COVID-19 and the Literacy for All Luncheon

Dear Friends of Literacy KC,

Literacy KC’s number one priority is the safety of our students, their families, our volunteers, and our staff. Due to rising concerns related to the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19, we have been planning how to best keep the community we serve safe in this uncertain time. We will be taking the following approach to protect the health of our community:

  1. Literacy KC’s Spring Break is March 16th-March 20th. We will use that time while students are not in the building and classes are not in session to continue to monitor the situation. We will potentially extend the break depending on how things unfold in our local community.
  2. Literacy KC’s staff will be working from home during the Spring Break week to allow everyone to practice social distancing. Continued remote work beyond Spring Break will be determined at a later date.
  3. The Literacy for All Luncheon, originally scheduled for Friday, April 17th, has been postponed. Our new Literacy for All Luncheon date is Thursday, June 18th, 11:30am-1pm. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your understanding and sure hope you can join us in June. Many thanks to the sponsors supporting this important event. Information on sponsorship and ticketing can be found here.

We are working hard to take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Literacy KC staff, while working remotely, will be available during normal operating hours via email. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at info@literacykc.org and the appropriate team member will respond.

Thank you for being a part of our community, now more than ever.
