digiSTORY Resource Development Coordinator VISTA: The Resource Development VISTA will build the capacity of digiSTORY KC by developing and implementing fiscal and human resource solutions that assure its ability to provide quality after-school programming in digital media literacy for urban core youth in Kansas City in Jackson County Missouri. This VISTA position will impact poverty by strengthening digiSTORY KC’s capabilities to provide STEM-based digital media career training to low-income youth in Kansas City’s digital divide.

digiSTORY Curriculum and Development VISTA: The Curriculum and Program Development VISTA will build the capacity of digiSTORY KC by developing and implementing expanded digital media curriculum and program opportunities for urban core youth in Kansas City in Jackson County Missouri. This VISTA position will impact poverty by expanding digiSTORY KC’s outreach to youth in KC’s digital divide and by providing engaging STEAM workshops that not only increase their digital literacy, but also introduce them to rewarding career possibilities in digital media.

KC Free Eye Clinic Program and Develop Coordinator VISTA: The Development & Program Coordinator will facilitate program services to the low-income and homeless needing eye-care in the metropolitan Kansas City area and increase capacity of the organization to meet greater demand. The Coordinator will develop and utilize communications, engagement, and fund development plans tailored to partner organizations, donors, volunteers, and sponsors. Additionally, the Coordinator will support and coordinate volunteers for training, events, and further recruitment. Finally, the Coordinator will support services to patients to enhance the quality, value, and consistency of services provided by KCFEC. This role is one that will help to transform KCFEC from a small organization to one with a solid foundation.

MU VITA Program Coordinator VISTA: The Coordinator will work jointly with community partners, volunteers and the University of Missouri to develop a robust financial capacity program. Provide support, grow and continue to develop the VITA program that includes but is not limited to a volunteer recruitment and retention strategy. Additional, the VISTA will continue to develop and enhance strategy for qualitative data information gathering regarding community progress to track program achievement as it relates to the project goals. The VISTA will secure a grant to support the cost of the growth of the VITA and financial capacity program.

CCF Innovation and Outreach Coordinator VISTA: This VISTA member will strengthen and expand existing programs by creating tools and documents to help build organizational capacity in the present and future. The member will research and identify a relevant metric system to measure program success and take the organization to the next level of programming by building community partners and relationships. The member will reach out to past and current grant recipients to receive feedback to identify current strengths and weakness of the program. The member will strengthen our work to support building communities that are economically vibrant with-strong and empowered neighborhoods. The member will research and develop CCF’s first annual report to tell the quantitative and qualitative measures of the metrics put in place by the VISTAs work.

East High Family Engagement VISTA: This VISTA will work to increase parent participation in school activities and encourage positive communication between home and school thus enhancing student achievement and attendance as defined by NCLB mandates. The VISTA member will engage more parents and families in participating in school activities, creating parent participation and planning parent engagement events. As a result of VISTA service, the participation of parents in East High School programs and services will increase and participants will be more informed regarding the importance of high quality education. This will improve life outcomes for children and families.

Episcopal Community Services Nutrition Educator VISTA: The Nutrition Educator will establish a process for implementing nutrition education into the services already provided by ECS. This will include the development of production of materials for both the community kitchen and the Hunger Relief Network, development and implementation of curriculum that falls in line with industry standards, and research, develop, and communicate the importance of nutrition education to both clients and donors.
