The AmeriCorps VISTA program at Literacy KC addresses low literacy through traditional channels as well as through health literacy, financial literacy, and digital literacy. Our VISTA program provides passionate individuals the opportunity to spend one-year helping organizations serve their community and eradicate poverty in the US. Members develop professionally and personally while gaining valuable experience. They receive a monthly living allowance of $1,000, healthcare benefits, and childcare benefits (if qualified). They also receive a Segal Education Award or a cash stipend upon completion of one year of service.

For more information about becoming a Literacy KC VISTA member or one of our sponsoring sub-sites, email Amy Coffman, VISTA Program Manager.
