Welcome J.P. Deckert, Director of Development!

Please join Literacy KC students, staff, and Board of Directors in welcoming J.P. Deckert as our Director of Development!

J.P. comes to Literacy KC with ten years of nonprofit experience. After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in business and teaching, he moved to New England and worked in nonprofit programming and development.
Since moving back to the Midwest, J.P. has spent the last 3 1/2 years in development at the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City. With him comes a knowledge of development processes, as well as a passion for meeting new people in the community who want to help make a difference.
In his free time, J.P. enjoys going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and going on walks with his wife Courtney and dog Bagels.
We are thrilled to welcome J.P. to the Literacy KC team where he will lead all fundraising efforts to support Literacy KC’s tremendous work.

Feel free to drop him a line or stop by his office to chat. J.P. can be reached at jdeckert@literacykc.org or 816-333-9332 x.105.

“Literacy KC has an incredible mission and I feel lucky to be able to contribute to it. I was also instantly drawn to the energy of the team, and look forward to working together to advance literacy in the KC Metro.”
-J.P. Deckert, Director of Development
